Kidnapping or abducting a woman to compel her marriage, or to force or seduce her into illicit intercourse, carries up to 10 years' imprisonment plus fine under BNS Section 87 -- identical to the old IPC 366. It is a non-bailable, cognizable offence tried before the Court of Session.
Section 366 IPC punished kidnapping or abducting a woman with intent, or knowledge it was likely, that she would be compelled to marry against her will or forced/seduced into illicit intercourse, with imprisonment up to 10 years plus fine. A second limb covered inducing a woman to leave a place, by intimidation or abuse of authority, with the same intent.
