Section 324 IPC punished voluntarily causing hurt by dangerous weapons or means (instruments of shooting/stabbing/cutting, fire, poison, explosives, corrosive substances, animals etc.) with imprisonment up to 3 years, or fine, or both.

Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023 · § 118

BNS Section 118(1) retains the offence with imprisonment up to 3 years, or fine up to ₹20,000, or both. Section 118(2) covers grievous hurt by dangerous weapons: imprisonment for life or 1–10 years, and fine.
